BarisanBerita.com,- Taliban dengan mudah menguasai Afganistan. Penyebabnya bukan hanya karena Amerika keluar dari negeri itu, tapi karena korupsi yang merajalela dan kemudian meruntuhkan negara tersebut.

Jutaan dollar dikeluarkan Amerika untuk membentuk tentara di negeri asing itu, namun ternyata dimanfaatkan pejabat korup untuk mengeruk uang Paman Sam.

Mantan menteri keuangan Afghanistan menyalahkan ulah para pejabat korup yang menciptakan “bala tentara hantu” dan menerima bayaran dari Taliban sehingga pemerintah dengan cepat dapat digulingkan.

Khalid Payenda berkata kepada BBC bahwa sebagian besar dari 300.000 serdadu dan polisi dalam daftar pemerintah sebenarnya tidak pernah ada.

Ia mengatakan “personel hantu” itu ditambahkan ke daftar resmi supaya gaji mereka bisa masuk ke kantong para jenderal.

Taliban menguasai Afghanistan dengan cepat pada Agustus lalu, menyusul penarikan pasukan AS angkat kaki setelah 20 tahun di negara itu.
